The Office of the President

The Office of the President consists of the President, four Vice Presidents and the Chief Administrative Officer. The President is responsible for managing the University of Applied Sciences and for representing it to the public, whereas the Chief Administrative Officer heads up the Administration. The President's term of office is six years.

The Vice Presidents assume university-wide co-ordination and development duties in the following areas:

  • Tuition, Studies and Further Education (Prof. Dr. Manfred Kaul). At the same time he is the person to contact for all matters pertaining to library management.
  • Research and Transfer (Prof. Dr. Volker Sommer). At the same time he is the person to contact for all matters pertaining to the management of science and technology transfer and university research focuses.
  • Internationalisation and International Co-operation (Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Terlau). At the same time she is the person to contact for all matters pertaining to the management of the Language Centre and the International Centre for Sustainable Development (Internationales Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung, IZNE).
  • Innovation and Regional Development (Prof. Dr. Reiner Clement). At the same time he is the person to contact for all matters pertaining to the management of the Graduates’ Institute as well as fund-raising.
